Andrea Klapheck

Andrea Klapheck (born June 20, 1967 in Dorsten ) is a former German rower who was world champion with the eighth in 1994 .

Career

Andrea Klapheck started for the Ludwigshafen rowing club in 1878 , she started in sculling boats . In 1987 and 1990 she won the German championship in quadruples. At the 1990 World Rowing Championships , she finished fourth with a double scull.

In 1989 she also won a German championship title in oar rowing for the first time when she rowed the title in the four without a helmsman . At the World Rowing Championships in 1989 , she finished sixth in the four without a helmsman and fifth in eight. At the 1991 World Rowing Championships , she again finished fifth with eighth. In 1993 she won the German championships in eight and together with Antje Rehaag in two without a helmsman . At the rowing world championships in 1993 , Klapheck won the bronze medal in eighth. The German eighth was even more successful in the 1994 season. At the World Championships in Indianapolis , the boat won with the cast of Kathrin Haacker , Antje Rehaag, Andrea Klapheck, Dana Pyritz , Doreen Martin , Micaela Schmidt , Stefani Werremeier , Ute Wagner and helmswoman Doreen Schnell . In 1995 and 1996 Klapheck won two more German championship titles with the eighth. At the 1995 World Rowing Championships , the German eighth finished fourth. At the end of her career, Andrea Klapheck was nominated for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, but was not used.

Wolfgang Klapheck , Andrea's brother, was an Olympian in rowing in 1988.
