Adelina Maria Boguș , née Adelina Maria Cojocariu (born September 4, 1988 in Botoșani ) is a Romanian rower . She is world champion, six-time European champion and Olympic participant for Romania.

Career

Cojocariu began rowing in 2002 and was able to achieve first international successes with three participations in the world championships of the juniors in the years 2004 to 2006, where she won three medals. At the Junior World Championships in 2006 , she won the bronze medal in two without a helmsman . In the first year of the senior age group, she won a bronze medal at the newly introduced European Rowing Championships 2007 in Poznan together with Nicoleta Albu . In 2008 and 2009 she started in the U23 area and won two titles at the world championships in this age group. At the same time, she was also the main force of the Romanian women's eighth in the open age group, who won two European Championship titles and two World Championship medals in 2009 and 2010.

From 2011 she was used in addition to the eighth in the double scull, but could not convince with the team at the World Championships. In the eighth, however, she won her third European title that year. In the 2012 Olympic season, Cojocariu first had to make way for the European Championships with Maria Bursuc in the double scull, in which she was able to win a bronze medal. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, she returned to eighth place and finished fourth. At the European Rowing Championships in 2013 and 2014 , two more European Championships followed in eighth, and at the 2014 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, she rowed the Romanian eighth to fourth place. In 2015 a bronze medal followed at the European Championships and seventh place at the World Championships . At the beginning of May 2016, the Romanian eighth finished fourth at the European Championships . A fortnight later, the Romanians won the last Olympic qualification in Lucerne. At the 2016 Olympic Games , the Romanian eighth won the bronze medal in the line-up of Roxana Cogianu , Ioana Strungaru , Mihaela Petrilă , Iuliana Popa , Mădălina Bereș , Laura Oprea , Adelina Boguș, Andreea Boghian and taxwoman Daniela Druncea . At the end of May 2017, the Romanian eighth won the gold medal at the European Championships . After winning the World Cup final in Lucerne, the Romanian eighth also won the World Championships in Sarasota at the end of the 2017 season .

Boguș starts for the club CS Botoșani . At a height of 1.84 m, her competition weight is around 75 kg. In October 2015 she married the former Romanian rower Cosmin Boguș , and has been using her married name since then.
