The 2014 World Rowing Championships were held from August 24 to 31, 2014 on the Bosbaan regatta course in Amstelveen ( Netherlands ) under the rules of the World Rowing Federation (FISA). The regatta course was previously the scene of the Rowing World Championships in 1977 as well as several events of the European Rowing Championships , the Rowing World Cup and various world championships in rowing.

At the event, rowing world champions were determined in 27 boat classes, 13 of them for men, 9 for women and 5 for par-rowers . A total of over 1100 participants from 60 nations were registered. The largest contingent came from Italy (26 boat classes), followed by the USA and Germany with entries in 25 classes each.

World best times

Due to the sometimes strong sliding wind conditions, 14 new world record times could be rowed in the context of the world championships . This applied to August 29th (Friday) and August 30th (Saturday):

On the other hand, the wind conditions occasionally caused uneven conditions on the six lanes of the regatta course.
