Pamela Relph MBE (born November 14, 1989 in Aylesbury ) is a former British rower . She is a two-time winner of the Paralympics and a four-time world champion.

Career

Pamela Relph won her first international gold medal at the 2011 World Championships in Bled when she, together with Naomi Riches , David Smith , James Roe and helmsman Lily van den Broecke, won the title in the boat class LTA mixed fours with helmsman in front of the boats from Canada and Germany won. In 2012 at the Paralympics in London, the British foursome won the title in the same line-up as in 2011, ahead of the German boat and the Ukrainians.

At the 2013 World Championships in Chungju , the British four-man teamed up with Pamela Relph, Naomi Riches, Oliver Hester , James C. Fox and helmsman Oliver James and won the title in front of the boats from Italy and South Africa. In 2014, Grace Clough , Pamela Relph, Daniel Brown and James Fox rowed in the British foursome , Oliver James steered. At the World Championships in Amsterdam, the British won ahead of the boat from the United States and the Italians. In 2015, the British competed at the World Championships on Lac d'Aiguebelette in the same line-up as in 2014 and reached the finish in front of the boats from the United States and Canada. Grace Clough, Pamela Relph, Daniel Brown, James Fox and helmsman Oliver James also won the Parylampics in Rio de Janeiro in September 2016 , as at the 2015 World Championships, silver went to the US four and bronze to the Canadians.

Pamela Relph attended the College of the Defense Academy of the United Kingdom in Welbeck and wanted to study engineering with the British Army , but had to give up this plan after suffering from arthritis . She then took up physics at the University of Birmingham , where she began para rowing. She later belonged to the Leander Club .
