- 1475 : George the Rich , the later Duke of Bavaria-Landshut , takes Jadwiga , the daughter of the Polish King Casimir IV , as his wife. The wedding party in Landshut lasts eight days. This wedding feast is celebrated every four years up to the present day.

- 1495 : In the Battle of Aguere , the troops of the Kingdom of Castile succeed in defeating the Guanches , the indigenous people of the Canary Islands .
- 1501 : 15-year-old Catherine of Aragón is married to the Prince of Wales , Arthur Tudor , of the same age in St Paul's Cathedral . Four months later, her husband dies of a severe fever. The widow is married in 1509 by his younger brother Heinrich .
