Christian III Moritz von Sachsen-Merseburg (born November 7, 1680 in Merseburg , † November 14, 1694 ibid) was a member of a sideline of the Albertine Wettins and for a short time nominally the third duke of the Saxon secondary school principality of Saxony-Merseburg .

Life

Government in the Merseburg principality

After the father's death on October 20, 1694, the 13-year-old Hereditary Prince Christian Moritz ascended the throne of the Duchy of Saxony-Merseburg. However, due to his minority administration of the Duchy fell right next to his adult relatives, the Saxon Elector Friedrich August I to. Early death and burial

Since Christian Moritz was not able to marry or have offspring due to his young age, his brother Moritz Wilhelm succeeded him to the throne, who however also remained under the reign until 1712.
