She was the daughter of Duke Moritz von Sachsen-Zeitz from his marriage to Dorothea Maria von Sachsen-Weimar .
After the death of Duke Christian II von Sachsen-Merseburg in 1694, she took over the guardianship of her son Moritz Wilhelm von Sachsen-Merseburg , who was also known as the " Duke of Violin ", until he came of age in 1712. She ran government affairs and got involved for the Lauchstädter Heilbrunnen . In 1710 she had them bordered, a wooden well house built and linden trees planted, which formed a green vault. In 1720 the widow died at Bündorf Castle , which she had bought from the Bothfeld family. She was buried in the princely crypt of the Merseburg Cathedral .
A gold piece was minted on the occasion of her death. Today one of the four obelisks in the garden of Merseburg Castle commemorates them.
