Simone Brand (born November 14, 1967 in Bochum ) is a German politician of the Pirate Party .

Life

Brand is the daughter of a graduate engineer and trained industrial clerk. After completing her apprenticeship, she initially studied business administration , but changed courses and became a psychologist. Then she first worked in quality management and training. Since 2005 she has worked as a manager at Faber Lotto-Service GmbH.

In 2009 Simone Brand joined the Pirate Party and founded the Bochum district association. Already in the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2010 , she ran for fourth place on the state list. She was elected to the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia on May 13, 2012 at number 5 on the state list of the Pirate Party of North Rhine-Westphalia in the state election in North Rhine-Westphalia . There she was deputy group leader. She was the spokeswoman for integration policy and consumer protection policy of her parliamentary group, a member of the board of trustees of the Kunststiftung NRW and of the board of trustees of the Center for Turkish Studies and Integration Research . She was a member of the committee for climate protection, the environment, agriculture, nature and consumer protection as well as the integration committee. She was also the spokeswoman for her group in the state parliament's investigative committee on New Year's attacks . When the pirates failed to pass the 5% hurdle in the state elections in 2017 , they left the state parliament.
