The Pirate Party Germany Landesverband Nordrhein-Westfalen is the state association of the Pirate Party Germany in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

The regional association was founded on June 9, 2007. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2010 , he failed with 1.6 percent of the five percent hurdle . With the early election in May 2012 , the party was able to enter the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for the first time with 7.8 percent .

On June 16, 2015, around 2:20 a.m., an attack was carried out on the Dortmund constituency office of the pirate MPs Rydlewski, Rohwedder and Sommer. Two shop windows had bullet holes. A letter of confession from the right-wing extremist Association National Resistance Dortmund (NWDO) reached the regional blog Ruhrbarone in the afternoon .

In the state elections in 2017 , the NRW pirates clearly failed with only 1.0% of the five percent hurdle and subsequently missed the re-entry into the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament .

organization

Below the regional association there are currently 20 district associations. In cities and districts without their own district association, administrative tasks are often carried out by office pirates who have been elected by the general assembly and entrusted with their task by the state board.

Political positions of the regional association are developed in topic-related working groups. Active political or organizational work takes place in so-called crews, which consist of at least three members. Permanent tasks that are not part of the decision-making process within the party are handled by over ten working groups. This includes, for example, taking care of the party's own media such as wiki , forum or mailing lists, as well as creating flyers or press releases. Furthermore, there are project groups whose work results are linked to a target date to be specified when the group is founded.
