Sven Sladek

Sven Sladek (born October 19, 1970 in Essen ) is a German politician. From 2012 to 2013 he was chairman of the Pirate Party of North Rhine-Westphalia , and in 2015 he resigned from the party.

Political activity

Sladek joined the Pirate Party in June 2009. He was involved in the field of social policy and, according to his own statements, advocated an unconditional basic income according to Götz Werner's ideas - with some changes in terms of financing. From 2010 to June 2012 he was chairman of the Soest district association , then honorary chairman.

In the state election in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2010 , he ran as a candidate for the state election Kreis Soest I , but was 1.4% primary vote at No. 6. On June 30, 2012 ran Sladek at the party conference in Dortmund for the post of chairman of the North Rhine- Westphalian state association and was able to prevail against its six competitors, including the previous state chairman Michele Marsching .

Sladek ran for position 19 on the state list of the Pirate Party of North Rhine-Westphalia for the 2013 federal election . On April 4, 2013, he withdrew his candidacy after severe criticism of the board. However , he maintained his direct candidacy in the Soest constituency and achieved 2.4% of the votes.

In the 2014 local elections he was elected to the Soest City Council. Furthermore, he ran for the office of mayor of Soest, but received only 3% of the votes.

Sladek is a member of the 14th assembly of the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe and acts as the spokesman for the group of LWL pirates.

In September 2015, Sladek resigned from the Pirate Party.
