The Soester Anzeiger is a daily newspaper in the Soest area (former Soest district ) . The newspaper belongs to W. Jahn Verlag GmbH & Co. KG, in which Ippen Digital GmbH & Co. KG is involved.

The Soester Anzeiger first appeared on July 1, 1853 by Eduard Rochol. In the course of the revolution of 1848 and the new freedom of the press, Rochol had already published the publication Der Westphalian Citizen and Peasant Friend on July 1, 1848 .

The sheet is sold in the cities of Soest, Werl , Warstein and the municipalities of Bad Sassendorf , Lippetal , Welver , Ense , Wickede (Ruhr) and Möhnesee . The newspaper publishes relevant local pages for these regional authorities. Accordingly, the Soester Anzeiger has the local parts Werl, Ense and Wickede (Ruhr) in the west, the local parts for Soest, Bad Sassendorf, Lippetal, Möhnesee and Welver in the central distribution area and the local part for Warstein in the south-east in separate editions. Accordingly, there are separate local editorial offices in Soest, Werl and Warstein for these publication areas. The Soester Anzeiger gets its coat (supraregional part) from the Westfälischer Anzeiger in Hamm. The same applies to the local daily newspaper Der Patriot , the local daily newspaper in Lippstadt and the surrounding area. The cooperation between the two papers provides for a guest page in the Soester Anzeiger , which contains important topics from the Lippstadt area.

The advertisement appears on working days with a sold circulation of 29,453 copies, a decrease of 9.8 percent since 1998.

The local editorial team includes 22 permanent editors and six volunteers. The editor-in-chief is Martin Krigar from Westfälischer Anzeiger .

The oldest edition recorded in the journal database dates from November 28, 1917 and is located in the Institute for Newspaper Research in Dortmund. The newspaper has been available in the University and State Library of Münster since 1951 under the signature Ztg Fol 129 . The Soester Anzeiger from 1853 and its predecessors are all in the original and on microfilm in the Soest City Archives.
