Program

One of the main concerns of the Pirate Party at the state level is the transparency of politics and public administration. The meetings of the parliamentary group in the House of Representatives were streamed live on the Internet and made available for download .

The Berlin Pirate Party also advocates the promotion of alternative housing projects and cultural institutions as well as the preservation of inner-city open spaces and opposes the so-called " Berlin Line of Reason ". The party is in favor of ticket-free local transport in the capital. The referendum on the disclosure of the partial privatization contracts at Berliner Wasserbetriebe is supported by the pirates. For schools in Berlin, the party is calling for a module to supplement ethics lessons for learning about drug maturity . The party would like to abolish the limitation of the voting age in the elections to the Berlin House of Representatives . Even the animal welfare are dedicated three chapters of the basic program. The Pirate Party has not been represented in the House of Representatives since 2016, but continues to advocate the goals of its program outside of parliament.

In 2014 and 2015 MPs Baum, Delius, Herberg, Höfinghoff, Lauer, Mayer and Weiß left the pirate party, but remained members of the pirate faction.

MPs in district assemblies

Due to double candidatures, three seats in the District Assembly of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg could not be filled in 2011 . As a result, the party could not take a city council post that would have been granted to it there according to the distribution of seats.

The Pirate Party was represented in all twelve district council assemblies until February 2014 . In five BVVs, the party was unable to fully occupy the seats it was entitled to because there were not enough candidates on the district election proposals. The following table lists the number of mandates per district for the 2011-2016 legislative period, the number of unoccupied seats in brackets:
