Drug maturity
Drug consent is a conceptual concept in drug policy . The term was used by Gundula Barsch , a member of the former Drugs and Addiction Commission in the Federal Ministry of Health .
"The counterpart to addiction and excessive consumption is not abstinence, but drug maturity."
- Gundula Barsch : Statement of the Drugs and Addiction Commission on improving addiction prevention from the Federal Ministry of Health , 2002, page 45
According to Persch, the four pillars of responsible, integrated and autonomously controlled drug use are:
- Risk management
- Critical ability
- Pleasure ability
- Drug knowledge
The term is mainly discussed in German-speaking countries. In the social discourse of many other countries, e.g. B. in the United States , considerations to promote risk literacy among drug users and in this way to make drug use socially acceptable and socially acceptable, currently hardly play a role.
