Christiane Schinkel (born October 6, 1965 in Bielefeld ) is a German politician of the Pirate Party and was deputy chairwoman of the Berlin state association from February to May 2012 .

After Hartmut Semken's resignation on May 16, 2012, she was chairwoman of the Berlin regional association until the state members' meeting on September 15, 2012, when she no longer ran for this position.

Life

Christiane Schinkel grew up in Bielefeld. After graduating from high school, she studied in Berlin. The single mother of one son left her career in the advertising industry in 2002 in order to be able to take care of her child more as a freelancer. Schinkel has worked as a freelance designer since then, and since 2009 she has been a trainer for new media in schools. In July 2011 she joined the Pirate Party.

Schinkel is involved in family and gender politics and, together with Ursula Bub-Hielscher and process designer Katrin Faensen, realized the first “liquid” political conference of the Pirate Party Germany with the #PiratinnenKon in April 2013.
