Alexander Spies

Alexander Spies (born October 17, 1955 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician of the Pirate Party .

Spies is a software developer by profession. He joined the Pirate Party in 2009. On September 18, 2011, he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives at number 12 on the state list of the Berlin Pirate Party in the election for the Berlin House of Representatives. He was also a direct candidate for the pirates in the constituency of Tempelhof-Schöneberg 1 . In the pirate faction he was spokesman for social affairs, work and vocational training, disability policy, and European and federal affairs. On June 11, 2013 Spies was elected chairman of the parliamentary group together with Oliver Höfinghoff . In October 2016, he left the House of Representatives.

In the 2019 European elections , he was a candidate for the Pirate Party Germany in 6th place on the list.
