Flashpoint - Die Grenzwölfe (alternative title: Die Grenzwölfe ) is an American political thriller directed by William Tannen from 1984 . The film is based on the novel The Rolling Coffin by the writer George LaFountaine .
action
The two Texan border guards from the United States Border Patrol, Bobby Logan and Ernie Wyatt, discover a half-buried jeep in the middle of the desert. In the car, they find a man's skeleton, a sniper rifle, and $ 800,000 . The corpse's driver's license and banknotes date from 1963. After the discovery became public, FBI agents joined the investigation. The investigations of the two border guards are increasingly being hindered and their lives will soon be threatened.
Towards the end of the film, Logan reveals a connection between the find in the desert and the assassination attempt on John F. Kennedy .
Reviews
"Exciting, solidly staged mixture of police officer film and political thriller, which focuses on problems of moral decisions, friendship and responsibility."
" Flashpoint [turns] from a good-humored buddy movie into a conspiracy story - a chilly, paranoid fantasy of a sort no longer fashionable on the screen."
