Tess Harper

Tess Harper (* 15. August 1950 as Tessie Jean Washam in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas ) is an American actress .

life and career

Harper studied at Arkansas State University , later she played various roles in amusement parks. She made her acting debut at the side of Cheryl Ladd and Ned Beatty in the television drama Riot Underground (1983). In the film drama Comeback der Liebe (1983) she played one of the bigger roles alongside Robert Duvall , for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe in 1984 . She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1987 for the role in the comedy film Criminal Hearts (1986), in which she starred alongside Diane Keaton , Jessica Lange and Sissy Spacek .

She played the role of the first lady in the thriller The Jackal (1997), whom the killer Jackal ( Bruce Willis ) tries to kill. Between 1998 and 2000 she was seen in several episodes of the television series Alone Against the Future . For her role in the short film Lonely Place (2004) she won an award at the California Method Fest Independent Film Festival in 2004 .

Tess Harper was married to Ken Harper from 1971 to 1976 .
