The Arkansas State University (also ASU is called) any State University in Jonesboro in the northeast of the US state of Arkansas . With approximately 14,000 students, it is the main location of the Arkansas State University system .

history

Arkansas State University was founded on April 1, 1909 as a regional agriculture school. In 1925, the First District Agricultural and Mechanical College (A&M College) emerged from the educational establishment . In 1933 it was converted into Arkansas State College . Since 17 January 1967, is university under its current name as a university recognized by the state.

Sports

Arkansas State University's sports teams are the Red Wolves (formerly Indians ). The university is a member of the Sun Belt Conference .
