Miguel José Ferrer (born February 7, 1955 in Santa Monica , California - † January 19, 2017 in Los Angeles , California) was an American actor .

Life

Miguel Ferrer was the eldest son of five children of Oscar winner José Ferrer and singer and actress Rosemary Clooney .

As a teenager he took an interest in music and started a career as a studio musician . He played drums on Keith Moon's album Two Sides of the Moon . His bandmate Bill Mumy got him his first TV role in the series Sunshine . Miguel Ferrer played a drummer and only accepted the role because Bill Mumy persuaded him.

In 1983, Ferrer got a small role as a waiter in the film Wedding with Obstacles . In the Star Trek film Star Trek III: In Search of Mr. Spock , he played the navigator of the spaceship Excelsior . Since then he has appeared in many films, usually in the role of villain, including RoboCop (1987) and My Wonderful Cadillac (1988), in which he played a sinister motorcyclist. In Deep Star Six (1989) he was seen as a mad scientist, in Revenge as a companion Kevin Costner and alongside Bridget Fonda in the agent thriller code name: Nina (1993). Miguel Ferrer was divorced and has two sons from his marriage to Leilani Sarelle . His cousin is the actor George Clooney . His brother Gabriel Ferrer is married to the singer Debby Boone , and their daughter is the actress Tessa Ferrer . On the other hand, there was no relationship to the actor Mel Ferrer . He was a close friend of actress Dominique Dunne and one of her pallbearers at her funeral.

His last role was in Teen Titans: The Judas Mission , where he spoke Deathstroke .

Ferrer died of throat cancer in his home on January 19, 2017 .
