Debby Boone
Deborah Ann "Debby" Boone (born September 22, 1956 in Hackensack , New Jersey ) is an American singer and film, television and theater actress . She is the daughter of singer Pat Boone and best known for You Light Up My Life in 1977 .
life and career
In 1978 she received a Grammy for Best New Artist for her cover version of the song You Light Up My Life , which was recorded in May 1977 . The single, released in August 1977, sold five million copies and was # 1 on the US pop charts for ten weeks .
In the 1980s she changed her style towards country music and Christian music . In 1980 she had a number one hit on the American country charts with Are You on the Road to Lovin 'Me Again .
Debby Boone is married to Gabriel Ferrer, the son of José Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney , the aunt of George Clooney . Their daughter is the actress Tessa Ferrer . Her brother-in-law was the actor Miguel Ferrer .
