Simon Weiß (born February 14, 1985 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( Die Linke , formerly Pirate Party ).

Life

Weiß studied mathematics at the Technical University of Berlin from 2002 to 2008. As a doctoral candidate, he received the Elsa Neumann grant from the State of Berlin. In 2011 he was employed by Pavel Mayer's company . On May 24, 2012, Simon Weiß published his doctoral thesis and was subsequently awarded his doctorate.

In mid-2009 he joined the Pirate Party and in spring 2011 became a member of the board of his regional association . On September 18, 2011, in the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011, he was elected to 6th place on the state list of the Pirate Party in the Berlin House of Representatives. At the same time, he ran as a direct candidate for the constituency center 3 . In November 2011 he resigned from his position as an assessor. On September 23, 2014, after Christopher Lauer and Oliver Höfinghoff , he resigned as the third member of the Pirate Party.

On September 8, 2016, Simon Weiß joined the Left Party . In the election to the Berlin House of Representatives in 2016 , he did not appear again. He now works for the left member of the Bundestag Petra Sitte .
