Richard Treat Williams , called Treat Williams (born December 1, 1951 in Rowayton , Connecticut ) is an American actor and children's book author .

Life

Williams graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania . In college he played at the Fulton Repertory Theater in Lancaster. He became famous in 1979 with the role of "Berger" in Miloš Forman's film Hair , which earned him a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actor . According to one anecdote, he beat up the film's producer to convince him to give him the role of hippie.

From 2002 to 2006 he played the doctor Andy Brown in the television series Everwood , for which he a. a. was nominated for the Golden Satellite Award , Screen Actors Guild Awards, and Teen Choice Award . In 2012 he stood in front of the camera for Roger Corman 's science fiction comedy Attack of the 50-Foot Cheerleader , which he filmed alongside Miss Georgia Teen USA 2007 Jena Sims. Other roles followed, especially for television. His work includes more than 100 productions.

Williams has been married to Pam Van Sant since 1988, has two children and lives in Park City, Utah .
