action
Maya is in her early 40s and frustrated. She works in a supermarket in Queens and has worked her way up to assistant store manager. She lacks a degree for the next step in her career, but Maya has not even finished high school . Therefore, a younger colleague with an academic title is preferred for this position. For Maya, who wants more professional recognition, that's a slap in the face. After Dilly, the son of her best friend Joan, decides to help her a little and without her knowledge begins to improve and falsify her résumé , for example by adding a Harvard degree and Mandarin skills. He also gives her an associated appearance on social media .
Maya soon received an invitation for an interview from a cosmetics company , where she sold so well that she was hired as a marketing consultant with her own office. She finally sees the chance to show that many years of experience and commitment can be just as valuable as certificates and a university degree. Maya is given the task of using her supposed knowledge to increase the sales figures of a stagnating skin care range and to increase the proportion of natural ingredients in the product. Together with her team, she should develop a new, improved cosmetic product within three months. She competes against Zoe, the boss's daughter, and her team in an internal competition. While Maya's team is doing well, Maya continues to fear that her vertigo will be exposed.
It turns out that the boss's adopted daughter is her birth daughter, whom she put up for adoption many years ago.
