Milo Anthony Ventimiglia [ vɛntɪˈmiːljə ] (born July 8, 1977 in Anaheim , California ) is an American actor .

Career

The son of a Sicilian started acting at an early age and starred in numerous plays at El Modena High School. He then received a scholarship to the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco . After completing his education, he attended the University of California in Los Angeles . In 1995 he got a role in the sitcom The Prince of Bel-Air with Will Smith and starred in a few films, but rarely as a leading actor. He worked in various commercials, for example for the Chrysler car brand , for the Apple iBook and for the station The WB and The CW .

The breakthrough came with the role of Jess Mariano, the bad boy of the fictional small town Stars Hollow in the television series Gilmore Girls , in which he was a permanent member of the cast for two years. At the end of the third season he got out because he got several film offers, but returned to the series for four guest appearances in the 4th season and for two appearances in the 6th season. After leaving the series, he played major roles in the series American Dreams and Bedford Diaries , which were only broadcast in the United States.

In September 2006, the television series Heroes started in the USA on NBC , in which he played the role of the nurse Peter Petrelli. Since October 2007, the series has also been broadcast in Germany on RTL II . The series and with it Ventimiglia's engagement ended in 2010. In 2006, the film Rocky Balboa , in which he played the son of Rocky, started in the USA . He played this role a second time in Creed II . He had played a similar role in the movie Killing Season . Both Killing Season and Creed II end with his film father overcoming himself to visit him and his child after a long radio silence. Ventimiglia is also active as a director and producer. He made his debut in 2007 and directed the miniseries It's a Mall World . Various productions followed, including a. Since 2013 he has been producing the thriller series Chosen for the digital television network Crackle ( Sony ) and also plays the leading role of Ian Mitchell.
