Mob City is an American television series directed by Frank Darabont for TNT . It is based on real-life cases from the LAPD and notorious Los Angeles gangsters in the 1940s. The crime series consists of a season with six episodes. The first broadcast in the USA took place from December 4 to 18, 2013 in double episodes, the German-language first broadcast was broadcast by the pay-TV channel TNT Serie from December 29, 2013 to February 2, 2014.
action
Mob City is about the decades-long conflict between the Los Angeles Police Department (headed by Police Chief William Parker) and ruthless criminal elements like Bugsy Siegel , who drove the mafia operations in LA. Most of the series is set in 1947, with brief flashbacks to the 1920s to provide background information. The so-called noir time in LA was a time with flashy cars, freshly made movie stars, and new beginnings. But it was also a time of lies and corruption. Half of the LAPD was bribed by the Mafia families and there were huge loopholes in the system that the Mafia knew how to use.
