Richard Brake (born November 30, 1964 in Ystrad Mynach , Wales ) is a British - American actor .

life and career

Richard Brake grew up in the United States, including North Carolina , Connecticut and Ohio . He graduated from the Western Reserve Academy in Hudson .

As an actor, Brake has had roles in numerous productions, including blockbusters such as Unterwegs nach Cold Mountain and Munich . In 2005 he played the role of Joe Chill in Batman Begins , the murderer of Bruce Wayne's parents.

In 2005 he starred in the video game adaptation Doom alongside Dwayne Johnson , Karl Urban and Rosamund Pike as soldier Dean Portman . In the music video Knights of Cydonia by the band Muse , he appeared as a villainous western sheriff. He also took on roles in the films The Black Dahlia and Hannibal Rising - How It All Began .

Since 2007 Brake has been increasingly seen in horror films such as Outpost - Born To Fight and Rob Zombies Halloween II , a remake of the original 1978 film. Brake also played regularly in television series, such as British productions from the BBC and ITV or the US series Cold Case and Navy CIS: LA .

In the HBO series Game of Thrones , he played the role of the Night King in the fourth and fifth seasons. For reasons unknown, he was replaced by Vladimir Furdik , who mimed the role from season six to eight.
