Vladimir Furdik

Vladimir Furdik (born July 1, 1970 in Bratislava ) is a Slovak stuntman and actor . He gained fame through the role of the Night King , whom he played from 2016 to 2019 in the TV series Game of Thrones .

Career

Vladimir Furdik found his interest in acting and stunt work at a young age. In the days of Czechoslovakia he was a member of a theater group that performed traditional martial arts on stage.

He first worked as a stuntman in 1990 in the low-budget film Tremors - In the Land of Rocket Worms . Shortly thereafter, he took part in the film The Three Musketeers from 1993. He played his first acting role in 1994 in the Italian fairy tale film The Ring of the Dragon . Further acting roles followed initially in the miniseries Lady Musketeer - All for One and The Last Legion .

His other stunt works include In Crosshair - Alone Against All , Helena of Troy , Eragon - The Legacy of the Dragon Riders , The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian of Narnia , The Mummy: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor , Solomon Kane , Robin Hood , The Last Knight Templar , The Eagle of the Ninth Legion , Companions , John Carter - Between Two Worlds , Prometheus - Dark Signs , Snow White and the Huntsman , James Bond 007: Skyfall , in Thor - The Dark Kingdom as a double of Christopher Eccleston , Noah , Hercules , or Exodus The Huntsman & The Ice Queen .

Furdik took on minor supporting roles in The Last Legion , Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time , Sherlock Holmes: Game in the Shadows and Prometheus - Dark Characters , before he initially took on stunt work on the Game of Thrones series from 2015 , including fighting scenes. After the actor Richard Brake was not available in the role of the Night King after two appearances in the fourth and fifth season, Furdik took over the role and played it from 2016 until the figure death in the final eighth season in 2019.

In 2018, Furdik announced that he would work on the Netflix series The Witcher as a fight choreographer and as a trainer of the fight scenes for the actors.
