Federal Song Festival 1860

The 9th Federal Singing Festival took place from July 7th to 9th, 1860 in Olten . A total of 1400 singers took part in 48 clubs. In the run-up to the festival, the competition regulations were tightened, which led to a large number of less capable choirs leaving. The festival was organized by the Olten Choir (now the Olten Oratorio Choir).

The Grand Councilor Johann Georg Kully acted as the party president . The president of the jury was the German composer Immanuel Faißt , the festival director of the overall performance was the Olten conductor Viktor Munzinger .
