Rosamund Pike
Rosamund Mary Ellen Pike (born January 27, 1979 in London ) is a British actress . She became known as Bond girl Miranda Frost in Die Another Day .
Life
Career
Rosamund Pike is the only daughter of the two opera singers Caroline and Julian Pike . Due to the changing commitments of the parents, the family lived all over Europe .
Pike attended a boarding school in Bristol and studied English Literature at Wadham College of Oxford University . She was discovered by an agent during student theater performances and got her first film and television roles before graduating from college. She made her debut in front of the camera in 1998 in the TV movie A Rather English Marriage . After graduating with a bachelor's degree in 2001 , she concentrated on her acting career.
In 2002 she played the role of the Bond girl Miranda Frost in her first movie Die Another Day on the side of Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry . In 2003 she received the Empire Award for her performance in the Best New Discovery category. She also appeared in the documentary film Bond Girls Are Forever directed by Maryam d'Abo . In 2004 she played alongside Johnny Depp the role of Elizabeth Malet in The Libertine , for which she was named Best Supporting Actress at the British Independent Film Awards . In 2005, she starred as Jane , the older sister of Elisabeth Bennet ( Keira Knightley ), in the literary film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice . In the same year she played the scientist Samantha Grimm in the cinema version of the computer game Doom . In 2007 she directed the film The Perfect Crime with Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling . In 2010 she played alongside Paul Giamatti , Dustin Hoffman and Rachelle Lefèvre as Miriam in the novel Barney's Version , which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival . For her role, Pike received, among other things, a nomination for the Satellite Award . In 2011 she was in Johnny English - especially now! as Kate Sumner with Rowan Atkinson and Gillian Anderson .
In addition to her cinema career, Pike continues to play theater. She has been in David Hare's Skylight , Arthur Miller's All My Sons , Terry Johnson's Hitchcock Blonde (a role in which she was completely naked on stage), Tennessee Williams ' Summer and Smoke , Patrick Hamilton's Gaslight , Yukio Mishima's Madame de, among others Sade and Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler can be seen.
2014 Rosamund Pike played the role of Amy Elliott Dunne in the crime drama Gone Girl - The perfect victim of David Fincher , which on the eponymous novel by Gillian Flynn is based. Pike received critical acclaim and numerous awards for her acting performance, including nominations for an Oscar , the Golden Globe and the Screen Actors Guild Award . In 2019 she was nominated again for a Golden Globe for her leading role in the biopic A private War . In 2019 she received the Emmy Television Award for the role of Louise in the State of the Union series . In 2020 she played the Nobel Prize winner Marie Curie in the biopic Marie Curie - Elements of Life .

Rosamund Pike plays the cello and lives in Kensington, London .
After relationships with fellow actor Simon Woods (1997-2003) and artist Henry John (2004), she was in a relationship with director Joe Wright from 2004 to 2008 , whom she met while filming Pride and Prejudice . Shortly before the wedding planned for May 2008, the couple separated. Since December 2009 Pike has been in a relationship with the 16-year-old businessman Robie Uniacke; At the beginning of May 2012 and the end of 2014 the couple had one son each.
