Empire Award

Empire magazine logo

The Empire Awards or Jameson Empire Awards (from 2003 to 2007 Sony Ericsson Empire Awards ) are a British film award that has been awarded by the film magazine Empire since 1996 . The winners are chosen by the readers of the magazine. The award ceremony takes place in a small setting similar to that of the Golden Globes .

The award consists of a square plexiglass . The category and the name of the recipient are engraved in white letters on the black base. The writing of the magazine ("Empire") is embedded in red in the plexiglass itself. There is also the word “Awards Jahr”. Since Jameson became the main sponsor in 2009 , the whiskey brand's logo has been visible above it.
