He made his first appearance in this role in 2016 in The First Avenger: Civil War . Holland's acting performance was widely acclaimed after the film premiered and the actor was welcomed as the new Spider-Man . Especially because of his youthful age and his impressive movements, which his experiences as a gymnast and acrobat showed, Holland is moving closer to the Spider-Man comic books. This is particularly evident from his flip when the character appears, as well as many of the stunts the actor performed himself in The First Avenger: Civil War . Even Tobey Maguire , who himself, the figure had led to new fame since 2002, congratulated Holland after its introduction into the MCU and was impressed by the new Spider-Man . Spider-Man: Homecoming was released in German cinemas in July 2017. In the film Edison - A Life Full of Light by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon , which celebrated its world premiere in September 2017 at the Toronto International Film Festival , Holland plays the business tycoon Samuel Insull.
