The fantastic journey of Dr. Dolittle (original title: Dolittle ) is a fantasy film by Stephen Gaghan , which was released in US cinemas on January 17, 2020 and in German cinemas on January 30, 2020.

Initially, the film was announced with the English title The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle .

The doctor Dr. John Dolittle embarks on a dangerous journey to find a miraculous cure so that he can heal the Queen of England. The route leads him in the footsteps of his deceased wife, the scientist Lily Dolittle. John is accompanied by various animals with whom he lives and with whom he can talk, as well as Tommy, who wants to be his doctor's assistant.

The film uses various characters from a collection of children's stories made up by Hugh Lofting about Dr. Dolittle from the 1920s.
