Craig Phillip Robinson (born October 25, 1971 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actor and stand-up comedian . He became known through numerous supporting roles in films such as Ananas Express or Zack and Miri Make a Porno, as well as in the roles of Darryl Philbin in the US sitcom The Office and the Pontiac Bandit in Brooklyn Nine-Nine , both of which were broadcast on NBC .

Chicago-born Robinson played the supporting role of Darryl Philbin from the beginning of the series The Office before he was promoted to the main character during the fourth season.
