Reno 911! is an American comedy series that was broadcast on Comedy Central from 2003 to 2009 .
content
Reno 911! parodies the series COPS . It shows the exaggerated everyday life as a police officer in Reno , Nevada . The series gives the appearance that it would be a reality show by accompanying the everyday life of police officers. But all scenes are staged, not even the Washoe County Sheriff's Department really exists. The Reno Sheriff's Department group consists of seven police officers who mainly deal with racism , drug offenses and the crazy people who live in Reno.
background
In 2001 Reno became 911! Developed for the American broadcaster FOX , but it was never to be produced. Comedy Central was interested in the series a little later and bought the rights, so the series could go on air in the US in 2003 .
The enormous success of the first season in the USA drew the attention of German broadcaster kabel eins . This broadcast the first season between May and July 2004, but with relatively low ratings , which was not least due to the late broadcast slot. Comedy Central has owned the rights to the series in Germany since January 2007 and showed seasons 1 to 3 on German television until July 2007. There is also a German adaptation that copies the style of the series. It ran with the title Everything in order - With the madness on patrol .
