The world premiere took place on March 28, 2014 in Finland. No Turning Back opened in German cinemas on June 19, 2014.

The site manager Ivan Locke experiences a day before he molded a very large foundation in Birmingham monitor needs that Bethan, a former colleague with whom he had a one-night stand seven months ago, premature rupture of membranes suffered. Locke, who is known to be extremely experienced and reliable, decides not to go to his family that evening, with whom he wanted to watch an important football match, but to London to be present at the birth of his child. The film only shows how Locke makes various phone calls on the drive from Birmingham to London: with his supervisor and his assistant Donal to organize the preparation of the casting, with his wife Katrina to confess to her the affair, and with Bethan, to give her courage for the birth. He also speaks in the idea to his father, who left him as a child and he has taken only in his early twenties.

In the course of his two-hour drive to London, he is laid off, thrown out of his own house by his wife and has to support Donal, who suffers several setbacks on the construction site. Shortly before reaching the hospital, he learns of the successful birth of his child.

The film was critically acclaimed. The Rotten Tomatoes review collection lists 191 reviews, 91% of which have a positive tenor. In the Internet Movie Database , No Turning Back was rated 7.1 points. At Metacritic , the film scored 81/100.
