Ben Daniels (born June 10, 1964 in Nuneaton , Warwickshire , England ) is a British film and theater actor .

biography

Ben Daniels, a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art , was on stage at an early age and has appeared in numerous plays in Birmingham , Manchester , Edinburgh , Liverpool and Leicester . In 1991 he stood in the fact-based drama Never the Sinner by John Logan in London on the stage, and was a child murderer in the same year for his portrayal of Laurence Olivier Award nominated.

His film acting career is essentially limited to British and European productions. Although he received several offers from Hollywood , including 2000 from Roland Emmerich for Der Patriot , he remained loyal to home television. He took his first known television role in 1997 in The Bible - David , when he played Prince Jonathan at the side of Jonathan Pryce . In 2001 he portrayed the National Socialist State Secretary Josef Bühler in The Wannsee Conference . From 2009 to 2010, Ben Daniels appeared as public prosecutor James Steel in the series Law & Order: UK . In the television series House of Cards , he played the photographer Adam Galloway in seven episodes .

Ben Daniels, who now lives in London with his partner Ian Gelder , is open to his homosexuality . He was voted 47th most influential British LGBT personalities by Pink magazine in 2006 .
