Law & Order: UK is a British crime series. Head writer and director Chris Chibnall used scripts and episodes from Law & Order for the episodes . Furthermore, Law & Order: UK is the first American drama television series to be rewritten for British television. It consists of eight seasons and 53 episodes. It was first broadcast on February 23, 2009 on ITV .

Every episode of this series begins with these words. This type of introduction is also used here, as it is also used in Law & Order as well as in Law & Order: LA and Criminal Intent . The introduction is an integral part of the Law & Order franchise.

The original plan was to broadcast the first thirteen episodes as Season 1. But the decision was made to air the first seven episodes as Series One from February 23 to April 6, 2009 on ITV . The remaining six episodes were broadcast from January 11, 2010 to February 15, 2010 as Series Two . From September 9 to October 21, 2010, the 3rd season or Series Three was broadcast.
On October 20, 2010 ITV extended the series for a fifth and sixth season with a total of 13 episodes.
The eighth season is the final season.
Canada
In Canada , the first seven episodes ran from June 11 to July 23, 2009 on Citytv . Since the remaining six episodes were not broadcast in the UK until 2010, these episodes ran as a world premiere from July 30th to September 3rd, 2009 on Citytv as well. In Canada, the third season aired from September 16 to October 28, 2010.
The fourth season celebrated its world premiere on November 4, 2010 on Citytv.
United States
In the US, the series has aired on BBC America since October 3, 2010 .
Germany
The station FOX broadcast the first seven episodes on pay TV from February 4 to March 18, 2010. The remaining six episodes aired from March 25 to May 2, 2010. Between May 5 and July 28, 2011, the pay TV broadcaster FOX broadcast the third and fourth seasons.
In free TV , the RTL Group secured the rights to the series and decided to broadcast it on VOX . Ultimately, seasons one and two were only broadcast in the night program on VOX from December 17 to December 29, 2011 for licensing reasons. The free TV broadcaster RTL Nitro , which belongs to the media group , broadcast the seventh and eighth season from September 2 to December 2, 2015. The station previously broadcast the first six seasons.
The broadcast rights for the fifth and sixth season has the pay-TV transmitter 13th Street Universal ensured that radiates the seasons since 2 August 2012 found.
