Peter Davison
Peter Davison (born April 13, 1951 in Streatham , London ; actually Peter Moffett ) is a British actor .
Live and act
The son of an electrical engineer, who originally came from Guyana , grew up in a small town near Woking in the west of the English county of Surrey . Before Davison started acting, he did a variety of odd jobs, including an undertaker.
Davison studied at the renowned Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He received his first engagement in 1972 at the Nottingham Playhouse in Nottingham . He chose Peter Davison as his stage name so as not to be confused with the actor and director Peter Moffatt , with whom Davison later worked. His first television role was in 1975 in the popular UK fantasy series The Tomorrow People . While filming, he met the American actress Sandra Dickinson , whom he later married. In 1977 Davison played alongside Jeremy Irons in the television series Liebe zu Lydia , which was also broadcast in Germany. From 1978 Davison stood as "Tristan Farnon" in the BBC television series The Doctor and the Dear Cattle in front of the camera, which was based on the novels of the veterinarian James Herriot . Through the series, Davison became known to an audience of millions in Germany.
Between 1981 and 1984 he played the fifth doctor in the British BBC cult series Doctor Who .
In 2010 Davison played one of the leading roles in the musical Legally Blonde in London . From 2011 to 2015 he was one of the main characters in the series Law & Order: UK . In 2013 he wrote his first short film, The Five (ish) Doctors Reboot , which he subsequently directed. He won his eldest daughter, Georgia Tennant, to produce his 50th anniversary comedy special for Doctor Who .
Private life
In 1978 Davison married actress Sandra Dickinson . With her he had a daughter, Georgia Moffett in 1984 . Georgia has been married to David Tennant since 2011 , and the actors met while filming Doctor Who in 2008 . Two decades after Davison, Tennant had also taken on the leading role there as the doctor's tenth incarnation . Davison has three grandchildren from the marriage so far (* 2011, 2013, 2015), his eldest grandson Ty (* 2002) comes from an early relationship in Georgia, which is still school-age, Tennant adopted him in 2011. Davison and Dickinson divorced in 1994 and married in 2003 Fellow actor Elizabeth Morton (actually Elizabeth Heery), with whom he has two sons, actors Louis Davison and Joel James Davison .
