Georgia Moffett (2008)

Georgia Elizabeth Moffett (born December 25, 1984 in London , married Tennant) is a British actress and producer . She starred in various British television series including The Bill , Casualty , Merlin and Doctor Who .

Life

Georgia Tennant was born in 1984 in London as the daughter of actors Peter Davison (actually Peter Moffett) and Sandra Dickinson . She attended St Edward's School in Oxford . In 2002 she gave birth to a son at the age of 17. Today she is the patron of a foundation that strives to provide information and support for teenage pregnancies.

During the filming of the series Doctor Who in 2007 Moffett met David Tennant (actually McDonald), who played the 10th Doctor . They have been in a relationship since 2008 and married since December 2011. When they got married, Moffett and her eldest son took the surname Tennant - in a professional context, however, she continued to use both names at the same time for a while (for example, in The Five (ish) Doctors Reboot she is both producer Georgia Tennant and actress Georgia Moffett guided). The couple's first daughter was born in March 2011, and in the same year David Tennant also adopted Georgia's then ten-year-old son. A son was born in 2013, the second daughter in 2015. All four children have already had small guest appearances in their parents' various film projects. The eldest son Ty Tennant has now decided to follow in his parents' footsteps for his professional career and has already appeared in various film roles, including one of the leading actors in Tolkien - his first major cinema project. Georgia Tennant, unlike her husband, is very active on social media, but their children try to protect the two with some success from the media hype and invasions of their privacy. They also avoid talking about their private life in interviews if possible. On October 13, 2019, she announced the birth of their third daughter on Instagram. The family lives in London.

Career

Her first role as an actress was in the television series Peak Practice at the age of 14. This was followed by roles in several television series and television films. In 2007 she took part in an episode of the series The Last Detective , in which her father Peter Davison plays the lead role. In the same year she appeared with him on the television multiparter Fear, Stress And Anger .

In 2008 she played Jenny , the doctor's daughter in the British science fiction family series Doctor Who . Moffet's father, Peter Davison, had become known in the title role 27 years earlier, so acting lead actor David Tennant from 2006-2010 commented: "We get to know the doctor's daughter, played by the doctor's daughter". In the same year followed a role in the first season of the BBC three series Spooks: Code 9 . In 2009 Moffett starred in two episodes of the 24th season of the doctor series Casualty , after she had starred there in 2007 in an episode. Also in 2009, she took on a speaking role on the Doctor Who animated series Dreamland , which appeared on BBC One and the Doctor Who website. In it she speaks the role of Cassie Rice, one of the doctor's companions. In 2011 she starred as Emma on the BBC comedy series White Van Man .

She made her theatrical debut in March 2007 in the role of Mathilde Verlaine in the production of Christopher Hampton's Total Eclipse at the Menier Chocolate Factory. In June 2010 she played the role of Leila in the play Hens , directed by Peter Gill. The play was performed at Riverside Studios in London and was broadcast as part of the Sky Arts Playhouse: Live series on the Sky Arts specialty television channel. What the Butler Saw followed in 2012 at London's Vaudeville Theater.

2013 turned Georgia Tennant in a dual role for the Doctor Who franchise back by the short film of her father The Five (ish) Doctors Reboot under her married name produced and at the same time under her maiden name had several brief cameos in it. In the comedy special on the 50th anniversary of the first broadcast in 1963, in which, in addition to numerous other ex-Doctor Who contributors and some of their real families, you can also see her husband, father and their two oldest children, almost all actors play self-deprecatingly distorted parodies of themselves. This is Georgia Tennant's first in-house production. In 2015 she produced the short film by her friend Daisy Aitkens, 96 Ways to Say I Love You , in which her husband and other former Doctor Who actors such as Nina Sosanya also appeared. For Aitkens' first feature film, You, Me & Him , Tennant not only took over the production again, but with her husband and the support of her father also contributed a large part of the budget. The couple also hired a large number of related and friendly actors (including Sandra Dickinson and Sarah Parish ), took on roles themselves and gave small supporting roles to their children. This enabled the successful implementation of the project as a low budget film of only 160,000 US dollars.
