Paul McGann
Paul McGann (born November 14, 1959 in Liverpool ) is a British actor .
life and career
McGann appeared on the BBC series The Monocled Mutineer in 1986 . In the same year, he starred in Bruce Robinson's comedy Withnail & I . He became known through this film and as the eighth actor in the title role of the science fiction series Doctor Who . His three brothers Joe McGann , Mark McGann and Stephen McGann are also actors. Together with Stephen and Mark he directed Katharina the Great in 1995 . In the early 1990s, he was seen in supporting roles in The Three Musketeers and Alien 3 . In 1996, McGann played the eighth incarnation of the Doctor in the British television series Doctor Who . Since 2001, McGann also speaks the eighth doctorate in the Doctor Who radio plays. In 2013 he took on this role again in the mini-episode The Night of the Doctor , which was released on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the series.
