action

Long ago a demonic vampire queen cursed a small village with an irrepressible hatred of men and a preference for women. Since then, all girls have been reborn as lesbian vampires on their 18th birthday. According to an old prophecy, the curse can only be dispelled by the last descendant of their former executioner - a nobleman and crusader who once beheaded Carmilla.

In the present, the two friends Jimmy, who suffers from the separation from his girlfriend, and Fletch, who has just lost his job as a clown, try to escape the dreary everyday life. Since there is no money for a real vacation, a dart throw decides the destination of your spontaneous trekking tour. Fate leads the friends to the sleepy provincial town of Cragwich in eastern England, shaken by Carmilla's curse. On their hike, the adventurers encounter a group of attractive female students who have just come out of a pub . Curious, they also go to the inn. There they make the acquaintance of a peculiar village pastor and daughter. Initially, the friends looking for relaxation do not attach any importance to the encounter. A little later, the landlord guides them into an abandoned hut, which also serves as accommodation for the women traveling in a Flower Power VW bus. Little by little, Jimmy and Fletch get to know the four young women better; At different times, three of the students are bitten and transformed by followers of the dead vampire princess.

For Jimmy, who at this point does not suspect that he is bloodline related to the executioner of vampire queen Carmilla, as well as Fletch and the virgin Lotte, a life-and-death battle begins. The trio initially successfully fends off innumerable nightly attacks, including by Jimmy's vampirized friend Judy. After she is killed in a joint effort, the bloodsuckers manage to kidnap Jimmy and Lotte. The kidnapped are to be sacrificed for the resurrection of the dead vampire princess.

Meanwhile, the left Fletch grows beyond himself. Guided by the resident pastor, he conceals a mighty sword with whose help the meanwhile freed Jimmy defeated revenant Carmilla. At the end of the film the curse is broken, the bloodsuckers present become human beings again. In an open ending, Fletch, Jimmy and Lotte - the two are now lovers - set out as eponymous Lesbian Vampire Killers to save the world from the forces of darkness.

Reviews

“With his last feature film to date, Mel Brooks finally got it wrong again:“ Dracula - Dead but Happy ”is the epically failed attempt to poke fun at the vampire film with a wink. Now finally, a proud one and a half decades after Leslie Nielsen squirmed through Transylvania, there is a much more worthwhile replacement: "Lesbian Vampire Killers" by Phil Claydon is entirely in the tradition of the British spoof wave around the duo Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg ( Shaun Of The Dead , Hot Fuzz ) and infuses the bloodsucker genre with a new milky-white body fluid that is somehow reminiscent of semen. "Take a dozen sexy girls, two idiots, tramp jokes and splatter elements - the direct-to-DVD strip is ready. - First with a bite, then the story has caries"

On Rotten Tomatoes , the film is rated as rotten with 29% and an average rating of 4/10 points.

background

  • The idea of lesbian vampires goes back to Sheridan Le Fanu's novella Carmilla , from which the name of the antagonist was borrowed.
  • The supermarket chain ASDA is censoring the word "Lesbian" on the cover of the DVD with stickers.
