David Bradley (born April 17, 1942 in Yorkshire ) is a British actor.

Life

Bradley has been an actor since 1971, beginning with Laurence Olivier's Royal National Theater . In the same year he was also seen for the first time in a television series as a police officer. In 1991 he won the Laurence Olivier Theater Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for King Lear at the Royal National Theater. In 1997 he joined both in the play The Homecoming by Harold Pinter in London and The janitor in the theater of Sheffield on.

His filmography includes numerous appearances in various television series such as Die Profis and Fitz For All Cases . He was also often seen in BBC productions . He played the role of Jake in the comedy series Wild West and a fictional member of the Labor Party in the 1996 BAFTA-Award- winning series Our Friends in the North . In 2001 he starred in the series The Way We Live Now directed by David Yates , with whom he also worked again five years later in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix .

As a film actor Bradley acted in addition to television productions in films such as Nicholas Nickleby (2002) and Hot Fuzz - Two deviated professionals (2007). He gained particular fame through his role as caretaker Argus Filch in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter novels.

In 2009 Bradley starred in the role of an extreme animal rights activist in the TV series Ashes to Ashes - Back to the 80s . In 2010 he starred in the drama Another Year and was nominated for a London Film Critics' Circle Award . Between 2011 and 2017 he played the role of Walder Frey in the series Game of Thrones at irregular intervals . From 2014 to 2017 he also played a leading role as Prof. Abraham Setrakian in the series The Strain . In 2013 Bradley played the lead role in the BBC television film An Adventure in Space and Time , a documentary about the genesis of the television series Doctor Who . Here he played the actor of the 1st doctor, William Hartnell . In the finale of the tenth season of Doctor Who 2017, Bradley played the first Doctor in the series for the first time.

The German dubbing voice of David Bradley in the Harry Potter films is Fred Maire .

Bradley has a dubbing role in the Kickstarter-funded video game The Mandate .
