British Academy Television Award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The British Academy Television Award is a British television award that has been awarded since 1955, analogous to the American Emmy television award .

background

With the exception of the International Award and an audience award, most of the more than 20 categories are reserved for British television productions (including films, series, documentaries). They are usually awarded every year in May / June. The sponsor is the electronics company Philips , which is why the television award is officially known as the Philips British Academy Television Awards .
