Inspector Edmund Reid and his colleagues Sergeant Bennet Drake and Captain Homer Jackson form the H Division and do everything they can to solve the murders. They also want to restore law and order in London.

background

The television series Ripper Street is a joint production of the British BBC and the American cable broadcaster BBC America . Eight episodes were ordered for the first season. Almost all of the filming took place in Dublin , Ireland . Dublin Castle and Kilmainham Gaol were the setting for the East End of London .

After the broadcast of the fifth episode of the first season, the production of a second season with a further eight episodes was announced. Due to unsatisfactory viewership, the series was discontinued on December 4, 2013 by BBC One. Then the producers tried to sell the series to the streaming service Lovefilm . In February 2014, more episodes were ordered from the video-on-demand provider belonging to Amazon .

Charisma

United Kingdom

The first season aired on December 30, 2012 on BBC One. The pilot episode saw 7.89 million viewers. In the weeks that followed, the ratings dropped only minimally. The first season finale took place on February 24, 2013. The second season ran between October 28 and December 16, 2013. Since the television series was against I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! , the UK version of I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here! , had to compete, the audience numbers dropped to just under four million, which is why BBC One canceled the series.
