Gilberto Duarte (born July 6 , 1990 in Portimão , Portugal ) is a Portuguese handball player .

The 1.95 m tall half-left backcourt player played for the Portuguese top club FC Porto from childhood . Since the beginning of his professional career in 2007, he has won the Portuguese championship seven times (2009-2015). He was voted Player of the Year 2012 in the league. In the 2013/14 season he was Porto's top scorer in the EHF Champions League with 56 goals in 10 games, with 9 goals against THW Kiel alone . In the summer of 2016 he moved to the Polish first division club Wisła Płock . For the 2018/19 season he moved to FC Barcelona . Since the summer of 2019 he has been playing for the French first division club Montpellier Handball .

So far, he has made 18 appearances in the Portuguese national team . (As of February 8, 2014)
