The European Handball Federation ( english European Handball Federation , EHF ) is the umbrella organization for the Handball in Europe with 52 national member associations and one of five continental federations of the International Handball Federation . It was founded on November 17, 1991 in Berlin and is based in Vienna . President is the Austrian Michael Wiederer. The general secretary of the association is its compatriot Martin Hausleitner.

The association can be every two years, the European Handball Championship men's and women's European Handball Championship , the U-20 Handball Men's European and U-19 Handball Championship Women , the U-18 Handball Championship Men and the U-17 European Women's Handball Championship , as well as the European Beach Handball Championship in a member country.
