The Serbian-Montenegrin men's national handball team (2003 to 2006) and the men's national handball team of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1993 to 2003) were the handball selection of the subsequent confederation of the 1992 defunct Yugoslavia from 1993/94 to 2006 . After Montenegro officially broke away from the Confederation of Serbia and Montenegro in May 2006 through a declaration of independence following an independence referendum , the Serbian men's national handball team became the official successor of the Serbian-Montenegrin national handball team.
