The Icelandic national women's handball team represents Iceland in international tournaments in women's handball .

After the Icelandic selection participated several times unsuccessfully in qualifying rounds for major international tournaments, they qualified for the first time in 2010 for the European Championships . In the qualifying round, Iceland finished second ahead of the Austrians with the same number of points due to a better goal difference. At the 2010 European Championships, the Icelanders were eliminated after the preliminary round and thus finished 15th. A year later, the Icelanders qualified for the World Cup for the first time . Here the Icelanders advanced to the last sixteen. In qualifying for the 2012 European Championship , Iceland only narrowly failed. With the withdrawal of the host Netherlands, Iceland received the vacated starting place. Iceland finished 15th at Euro 2012.
