Karen Knútsdóttir (born February 4, 1990 in Reykjavík , Iceland ) is an Icelandic handball player .

Karen Knútsdóttir began playing handball at the age of six with Fram Reykjavík , with whose women's team she later played in the highest Icelandic division. In the summer of 2011, the backcourt player moved to the German Bundesliga club HSG Blomberg-Lippe . After two years in Blomberg, she moved to the Danish first division club SønderjyskE . From summer 2014 she ran for the French club OGC Nice . In 2017 she returned to Fram Reykjavík. With Fram she won the Icelandic championship in 2018. In 2020 she will be on maternity leave.

Karen Knútsdóttir has played 86 caps for Iceland so far , scoring 310 goals. With the Icelandic national team, she qualified for the first time for the European Championships in 2010 .
