SønderjyskE Håndbold is the handball department of the Danish sports club Sønderjysk Elitesport from Sønderborg and Aabenraa in the Syddanmark region .

history

SønderjyskE is a 2004 merger of the five clubs Haderslev Fodboldklub , TM Tønder , Sønderjyske HK , Vojens BI and IK Sønderjylland . TM Tønder resigned in 2006; HF Sønderborg has taken its place.

This merger is intended to create the economic and sporting prerequisites for the development of a highly professional sports organization in the South Jutland region . The medium-term goal is to establish itself among the top five teams in the country.

The women's team in the handball division rose in 2005 in the 1st division to the Toms Ligaen, the highest Danish division. In the coming season, the team finished last in the Toms Ligaen, so the handball players were relegated again. After many new players had joined the team, SønderjyskE returned in 2008 to the top division. At the end of the 2010/11 season, the women were relegated to the 1st division. In the summer of 2012 SønderjyskE rose for the third time in the top division, in which the team could hold two seasons. After a season in the second division, the team succeeded in direct promotion.
